Performance notes
This piece explores an interaction between the pianist and manipulated pre-recorded material, triggered live through a MIDI pedal. The electronic part acts as a shadow presence, sometimes amplifying the gestures of the performer, others expanding the instrument. The pianist will use a small set of objects during the performance. These are not meant to “prepare” the piano in a traditional sense, but rather to extend its performative and timbral spectrum. The objects function as “extensions of the hands”.
